A UK home for software, safe by design, run by AI.

Guv runs your web apps, APIs and databases on British soil. Every service gets its own virtual machine, every project gets a safety grade in plain English, and your AI agent can ship for you without ever holding the keys to production.

Why Guv

Four promises, built in from the first deploy.

Most hosts give you a box and a manual. Guv starts safe, stays in the UK and tells you what is going on in words you do not need to look up. Everything a careful engineer would set up for you, already done.

Your data stays in the UK

Apps, databases, backups, logs and metrics stay in London on OVHcloud UK, not a US-owned cloud. A data-location statement and a UK data processing agreement are ready for your clients.

Where your data lives

A microVM for every app

Every service runs in its own lightweight virtual machine with its own kernel. It never shares one with another customer, so a flaw in someone else's app cannot reach yours.

How isolation works

A safety grade, A to E

The Safety Centre grades each project in plain English. Leaked keys, open databases and missing backups are caught before they go live, and most have a one-click fix.

What the grades mean

An API your AI can use safely

Agents get scoped tokens with a daily budget. Anything risky waits for your approval with a passkey, and every account has a hard spend cap that no agent can raise.

Deploy with your AI

Safety Centre

Catches what quickly built apps get wrong.

Leaked keys, open databases, missing backups, admin pages without a login. Guv checks for the mistakes that keep turning up in the news, grades your project from A to E, and gives you a one-click fix for almost everything.

  • Secrets are write-only: once set, nobody can read them back, including us.
  • Every build is scanned, including the code your app sends to browsers. A leaked key blocks the deploy.
  • Databases are private by default and backed up from the first minute, with restores tested daily.
What the grades mean

Grade C · Fair

Two things to fix. Both have a one-click fix.

  • Secret key in your client bundle

STRIPE_SECRET_KEY was visible in main.js. Deploy blocked before it went live.

    Fix with AI
  • Row-level security is off on users

Anyone with the public key could read every row.

    Turn on
  • Backups on, restore test passed

    Last verified 3 hours ago.

  • All data stored in London, UK

    Compute, databases, backups and logs.

  • Every member signs in with a passkey

No passwords to phish, no SMS codes.

Agent-safe by design

Give your AI the keys. Keep the crown jewels.

Claude Code, Cursor and Codex can deploy, read logs and fix failing builds through Guv's MCP server. Each agent gets a token with scopes, environments and a daily budget. When it reaches for production, Guv pauses and asks you.

  1. 1
Your agent asks. "Deploy web to production."
  2. 2
Guv holds the request and sends you the plan, with the cost change.
  3. 3
You approve on your phone with your passkey.
  4. 4
Guv runs it. The agent sees the result, never a credential.

Under the bonnet

Isolated by hardware. Kept in London. Still serving if we are not.

Your serviceBuilt from your repo, a Dockerfile or an image
Its own microVMIts own kernel. Never shares one with another customer.
Private network, closed by defaultEncrypted between machines. Only the traffic you allow.
London data centreUK-hosted on OVHcloud UK. Backups to a second UK provider.

Static stability

Your apps keep serving even if our control plane, or our AI, is down. Changes wait; traffic does not.

Backups you can trust

Encrypted with a key per customer, stored with another provider under object lock, and restore-tested every day.

No back door for staff

There is no "view customer data" button. Any access is exceptional, logged and visible to you.

Pricing

Round pounds. Real caps.

Each plan includes its own price in usage, so a typical side project costs exactly the plan fee. Beyond that, you pay per second for what you use.

Moving from Heroku, Railway, Render or Fly?

guv import reads your Procfile, railway.json, render.yaml, fly.toml or Compose file and writes a guv.yaml. Then guv plan shows exactly what will be created, and what it will cost, before anything happens.

Questions

Fair questions, straight answers.

Anything else? Email support@guv.dev and a person will reply.

When can I start using Guv?

Guv is in private preview while we bring our first London servers online. Sign-ups are closed for now. Join the waitlist and we will email you when there is room; we are inviting people in small waves so every new account gets a careful start. Joining costs nothing and needs no card.

Is my data really kept in the UK?

Yes. Running services, databases, volumes, logs, metrics and backups are all stored in London, and backups go to a second UK provider. Nothing leaves the UK unless you opt a project in to UK and EU residency, which also allows encrypted backups in France.

Trust and data location
What is a microVM, and why does it matter?

A microVM is a small virtual machine that starts in about a second. Each of your services runs in its own, with its own kernel. On most hosts, customers' apps share one kernel, so a single flaw can cross from one customer to another. On Guv, the hardware keeps them apart.

How isolation works
What does the safety grade check?

Secrets in your code and in the JavaScript your app sends to browsers, databases reachable from the internet, missing or untested backups, admin pages without a login, team members without passkeys, and more. Each finding explains the risk in plain English, and most have a one-click fix.

The Safety Centre
Can my AI agent break production or run up a bill?

Not on its own. Agent tokens carry scopes, the environments they may touch and a daily spend budget. Deploying to production, deleting data or raising costs pauses until you approve it with your passkey, and agents can never raise a spend cap.

Deploy with your AI
What can I run on Guv?

Web apps, APIs, background workers and scheduled jobs, built from your repository, a Dockerfile or an image, plus managed Postgres 18 and Valkey databases. If it runs in a container and listens on a port, it runs on Guv. guv import reads Heroku, Railway, Render, Fly and Compose files.

Migration guide
How much will it cost?

Plans start at £5 a month including £5 of usage, which covers a typical small app. Beyond that you pay per second, in pounds, for what you actually use. Builds are free, 100 GB of outbound data is included, and every account has a hard spend cap from day one.

Pricing
What happens if Guv itself has a problem?

Your apps keep serving. Running services, databases and the edge do not depend on our control plane or our AI, so if either is down, deploys and changes wait but your traffic does not. Live status is always on our status page.
